Step into the RING!

I remember as a child playing in my Granny's jewelery (she is a fabulous jewelery collector)and my favorite past time was putting on as many rings on each finger, without losing any! After my fingers were adorned in silver, gold, and turquoise jewelery i would run to my grandmother and say "look granny". She would laugh and say, "Tova you don't need to  have all those rings on, that is very gaudy, and not lady like." Well like many of us, that was  are thought process, but being fashion forward thinkers and trendy  we can now rock the Layered ring look, without looking like Mr. T. Here are some tips on how to pull this risky look off.

1. Don't wear the star studded cocktail rings or the punky skull rings
2. Think of the Hippie era subtle but bold
3. Stick to stone inspired rings such as;turquoise, amber, aquamarine, garnet, lapis lazuli and onyx.

This is for the Men

Usually my blogs are geared toward women, but this morning I am inspired by my best friend, who told me that I should stop being bias and talk about the men too( you guessed it he's a guy). I like Mens Fashion I actually get some of my ideas from a lot of their collection's, but there is one trend this season that really sparked something within. A hot trend for men this fall and winter are Brooches ( Yes Brooches).
Men aren't as lucky in the accessories department as us women. In high fashion men's collections such as: Dolce & Gabanna, Armani, and Louis Vuttion, men carry  wonderful handbags ( I would die to add any of those to my collection) but most men wouldn't take pleasure in carrying a miniature tote. Brooches can add a little funk to any outfit for a woman or a man. Some of the most vintage Brooches that I have seen, come from the Goodwill, or a Consignment shop. Those Brooches priced at no more than $9.00. So Men add a little flavor to your style by adding a Brooch.

Brown eyed Girl

Makeup has always been apart of my life. I remember the very first encounter that I had with those magical brushes. It was so amazing how a little foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner and eyelashes could make a difference in my look. My favorite is the smokey eye look. This look was very dramatic,( My muse Miss Kardashian herself) This Fall and Winter season "Less is More".
Coming from the bold bright colors of the spring and summer, fall brings us the  calm and subtle look. The season fav- Brown Eyes. This look can go all bad if not applied properly, or if you apply the wrong "brown." For pale skin rich browns, dark browns.  Medium and Brown skin, burnt red or deep gold. This look is easy to apply and very trendy. My suggestion Covergirl Exact Eyelights $ 8.99 at Target.

Comfy Chic

My favorite Season is Fall and Winter. Not just because I was born in December (shout out to all my Sagittarius's) but because of the great clothes that the season brings. Yes spring and summer is great, (especially living in the Tundra of Michigan) but the fashion trends of fall and winter are always the best. Some of my favorite articles for those nippy winter days: scarves, boots, and of course one of the hottest trends of the season, Oversized Cardigan Sweaters. I love love love that look. I call it "Comfy Chic". With the right accessories; leggings, ridding boots , a printed tee and a scarf you are sure to have the Comfy Chic Swagg that a lot of celebs such as; Reese Witherspoon,  and Zoe Saldana rock.
So being the "More for Less" poster child, I decided to brows the streets to see how cheap I could get this look. I already had a pair of riding boots from about three years ago. The oversized Cardigans, priced some at Old Navy and Target for about $24.00 (that wasn't cutting it for me. I was actually trying to get the whole look for that much). I went to a local Consignment shop, picked a Saint John's Bay Cardigan for $5.00 ( Great buy I know). I purchased leggings for $7.00 at a local department store. Printed tee $3.00 at Target on clearance, and my Scarf was $1.00 at the Goodwill. $16.00 for a Fab, Comfy Chic look! You don't have to have Celeb money to look like a Star.

Pink Panther

In honor of Breast Cancer Awarness Month I urge every woman to get a routine check up."An estimated 182,800 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed. Approximately 42,200 deaths will occur in women from breast cancer. One in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer risk increases with age and every woman is at risk. Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer. Seventy-seven percent of women with breast cancer are over 50. Approximately 1400 cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in men in  and 400 of those men will die. More than 1.7 million women who have had breast cancer are still alive in the United States. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54, and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74" ( Abouthealth.com)
So in honor of those brave women and men ( yes men) lets  sport a little pink in our wardrobe, a pink shoe, a clutch or even a breast cancer shirt! show your support, you never know how you can be affected.
